Asphalt Patch Repair – Morley

Today we completed an emergency asphalt patch repair on Beechboro Road North, Morley for the Water Corporation. This was an important job to replace the asphalt after the Water Corporation had undertaken works to repair infrastructure that was located below the asphalt on Beechboro Rd, Morley.

Due to the importance of the utility of Beechboro Rd the repair was completed as soon as possible after the repairs had been completed and the civil crew had finished the sub soil and road base reinstatement. You can see the extent of the excavation that was undertaken to complete the repairs and the subsequent reinstatement of the asphalt road surface in the Before and After pictures below.

Thanks to our technician Daniel for a job well done and thanks to our friends at the Water Corporation for engaging us to do the work!

Quick fact / Did you know?

To improve the look and durability of your asphalt repair and to prevent water from making its way into the road base beneath the asphalt you should consider applying a bitumen joint tape. A bitumen joint tape is effective at protecting the joint between the new and the existing asphalt and preventing water from undermining the repair. The bitumen tape is applied cold and heated with a gas hot torch to melt the tape to ensure it adheres to the asphalt with a lasting result. A typical bitumen joint tape will be 50mm wide and is supplied in a 15m or 20m roll.
