Asphalt Driveway Resheet – North Perth

Last Friday we completed a front driveway crossover resheet at a private residence in North Perth for MME Underground Services Pty Ltd.  These works were part of repairs to several driveways, due to damage.

A driveway crossover is replaced by using a cut and replace process which involves cutting and removing the damaged asphalt in a neat shape, trimming or preparing the existing underlying road base to the required depth, applying an adhesive bitumen spray to the patch, and then filling the area with new asphalt flush with the existing.

Thanks to our technicians Anthony and Carmelo for a job well done and thank you to Alexandre from MME Underground Services for engaging us to do the work.

Quick fact / Did you know?

To improve the look and durability of your asphalt repair and to prevent water from making its way into the road base beneath the asphalt you should consider applying a bitumen joint tape. A bitumen joint tape is effective at protecting the joint between the new and the existing asphalt and preventing water from undermining the repair. The bitumen tape is applied cold and heated with a gas hot torch to melt the tape to ensure it adheres to the asphalt with a lasting result. A typical bitumen joint tape will be 50mm wide and is supplied in a 15m or 20m roll.
