Asphalt Patch Repair – Kewdale

Thursday, April 4th, 2024

Today we completed an asphalt patch repair for WA Property Services around a newly installed soak well lid at the Australian Islamic College in Kewdale.

You will notice with this particular repair that we installed a bitumen joint tape on the joins between the old and new asphalt. The joint tape not only provides a more aesthetically pleasing finish, it also plays an important role in ensuring that water is prevented from making its way to the road base material supporting the asphalt. Water has the amazing ability to degrade the road base and cause problems with your asphalt in the future, such as potholes and subsidence. Ask us about joint tape for your next asphalt patch repair.

A new soak well lid may need to be installed for a number of different reasons, some of which include:

  • a low area of a carpark that requires a newly installed soak well to remove a persistent water ponding issue,
  • an old rusty & collapsed grate,
  • weakened & broken concrete, or
  • general ground subsidence leaving an existing grate higher than the existing asphalt preventing the water from entering the soak well.

Thanks to our technician Daniel for a job well done and thank you very much to our friends at WA Property Services for engaging us to do the work.
